A lyrics overlay for Spotify and YouTube Music on WindowsKOL — Katam's Overlay
You're singing along, or trying to work out what that line was. KOL shows the words of whatever is playing on your PC, in time with the song, on a small card over the app or game you're in.
It reads the song from Windows, so it works with Spotify, YouTube Music, YouTube and music in your browser, and it looks the words up on LRCLIB, an open lyrics library.
Karaoke-style, word by word
Synced lyrics follow the song as it plays, and with KARAOKE on they light up word by word. When a song only has plain lyrics, you get the plain words.

YouTube Music, built in
Sign in to YouTube Music inside KOL and the player also gets your queue, playlists, liked songs and search. After a restart it's back on the same song, paused and ready.

Start in three steps
- Get KOL from the Microsoft Store. It's a free beta for Windows 10 and 11, open to beta testers for now.
- Play a song in Spotify, YouTube Music, your browser or another player.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+P and turn lyrics on. The words show under the player and follow the song.
Good to know
- Lyrics come from LRCLIB. Some songs aren't there, and some have plain words without timing.
- To find a song's lyrics, KOL sends its artist, title, album and length to lrclib.net, and only after you turn lyrics on. The privacy policy has the details.
- Windows doesn't share other players' queues and playlists, so those are for YouTube Music in KOL.
Questions
Does it work with Spotify?
Yes. KOL reads what Spotify is playing from Windows, shows the song with play, skip and seek, and looks up its lyrics. Spotify's queue and playlists aren't shared with other apps, so those are only in KOL's YouTube Music player.
Where do the lyrics come from?
From LRCLIB (lrclib.net), an open lyrics library. KOL sends it only the song's artist, title, album and length.
Can I see the lyrics over a game?
Yes. The player is a small card on top that doesn't take the keyboard from your game. It shows over borderless and windowed games; in exclusive full screen we can't promise it.
Are Hebrew lyrics shown the right way?
Yes. Hebrew and Arabic lyrics read right to left, and the karaoke colour fills from the right.
